Working Together, Learning Together, Growing Together.
Ardleigh Green Schools, in partnership with Havering College and Ardleigh Green Baptist Church have re-furbished the church in Ardleigh Green Road to create our very own Family Centre.
As a school we have been able to raise over £80K from government grants, which have funded the capital works to provide new toilet and kitchen facilities. As the project develops we hope to develop a range of community and educational activities to meet the needs of our parents and local community.
Ast this present time (February 2010) we are welcoming over 100 visitors on a weekly basis. The "Flagship," continues to be our Baby Club which operates every Thursday morning. A committed staff team led by Theresa Jordan, one of our staff currently seconded to the project, work closely with our parents in providing a structured, creative learning experience for children as well as a place for parents to meet and catch up over a cup of coffee!
NCT classes provided by the National Childbirth Trust now run weekly as does the drop in sessions led by the Police and Open Doors who provide pregnancy advice.
The Family Centre has already hosted a concert and a local history exhibition as well as training sessions for the Local Authority and schools in the local area. The Family Centre provides a valuaeable additional teaching facility for Havering College who are also delivering government funded training courses for our parents designed to help parents, " Keep up with their Kids."
For news about future activities, please visit this web page, contact the office or look at the notice board outside the Family Centre.
